Our Expertise

In 2006 she partook in the Elite Eistedfodd competition in Pretoria in which she placed first and received a special award for her choreography.

In 2011 she went to New York, Manhattan where she received training in ballet, tap, contemporary and hip hop.

In 2015 she made the South African team in Talent Africa and represented her country in New York, Manhattan where she placed first in her age division.

Introduction

The class covers the Intermediate grade of the ISTD curriculum.  Students have the option to enter for dance examinations at the teacher’s discretion.  Note that this is the first compulsory exam in that students can not enter any grades thereafter without having passed the Intermediate Tap Exam.

  • Develop a thoroughly comprehensive tap technique
  • Develop the use of tone
  • Understanding and use of dance terminology
  • Develop the sense of line through arms, body and head
  • Understanding of rhythm and its development
  • Appreciation of varying musical styles and their interpretation
  • Develop awareness of the use of space
  • Develop awareness of audience with a sense of performance
  • Develop an artistic sense of self-expression
  • Develop creative use of rhythm and movement
  • Develop self-confidence in the performance of a solo
